The name
Macushla
Macushla is an old Irish endearment — anglicized from mo chuisle, "my pulse." We found it on a wine label at a winery in Queenstown, New Zealand: a red that is still the best I've ever tasted, possibly my absolute favorite. The name is now engraved on my husband's gold chain, which carries his wedding gift — a jade tiger. Jade and gold for his half-Chinese, half-Irish heritage. The tiger, for my 100% Bengali one. He is my biggest supporter, and this company is named for him — for the pulse under all the ambitious things we're building.
That's the whole story. Now back to work.
